Well this weeks come n gone like a blur...

Goin back over all my logbooks, i've just found out that this week has been the shortest week (with a holiday Monday) since i started with my company...

A whole whopping 15.5 hours worked including driving and delivery time.

It may be just me or is anyone else finding freight a bit slow this last little bit? i don't think i've seen it this slow in a very very very long time.

So theres not much to blog about today as i've pretty much been twiddling my thumbs for the better part of this week...

I'll just have to do some other updates to the site.

Hey, hows it going?

I'm pretty much going full out lately, seems as tho we cant get loads done fast enough - they're actually piling up on the coast and we just don't have the trucks to get them to the interior.

I actually heard that they are thinking of sending some of the day-cab's up with trailers soon, and that only means that either: A) ill finally get my wish of being a town driver or B) ill still be doing the same thing and they'll be doing just strictly kelowna delivery's... ?

Hmm... who knows...

Life beyond work has been going at a snails pace, seems as things i try and accomplish to get done aren't getting much progress as i would like, but i guess that comes with working 60+ hour weeks and feeling like burnt out at the end of the week.

As long as things seem to be crazy hectic at work, i guess ill have to settle for getting minimal progress done here...

Anyways, hope you all are doing good -

and remember to keep the rubber on the road!

Hey guys, been a busy time lately...

Had 1 driver get fired, which was our breaking "even" point for frieght... now 3 of us are doing what 4 people should be doing...

Anyways, cant spend much time on here - having work to do this long weekend. :/

Wow, its been a long time since i hit the blog! I'll update it sometime this coming weekend, barring nothing happens to me having to do another weekend rounder which i did last weekend which was when i was planning to do a blog n more music... Oh well, life of a trucker, roll the dice to see when ya have to work...

Commecial Drivers Licence VS College....

Many people don’t really see the appeal of truck drivers or think much of them when they see them driving down the highway. The thing is, a truck driver salary is often higher than what most people who get a four year degree from a college or university. There are a significant amount of benefits for truck drivers that the average person doesn’t realize.

So while plenty of people are pouring away all of their hard earned cash on tuition bills, others are going for CDL training to make a truck driver salary. The ones who are focusing on CDL training are actually the smarter ones because they have a better chance of getting employed after graduation than the ones who are going to college.

Why? Truck drivers will always have jobs because transport hasn’t been left up to the robots and computers. Things still need to get from point A to point B and the easiest way to do that is to put it on the back of a cargo truck and have it driven across the county, state or country.

CDL training takes about four weeks. A college degree takes about four years. It’s not hard to decide which one sounds like the better option in terms of getting a career started. Many trucks are state of the art with lots of technology and comfort built inside of them. Plus, many truck drivers get top benefits and make a great truck driver salary – often starting at about $50,000 a year.

There’s nothing too hard about CDL training. This is a course that teaches you all that you need to know about how to operate a truck, the rules of the road and generally how to handle yourself in a big rig. Once you graduate, you can choose the career path that you want to go. You can go with a cushy job with a corporation, coming home to your family every night. Or you can buy your own truck and transport anything that you want across the country. You can also go for some of the extreme jobs and double your truck driver salary.

The average college graduate isn’t actually working in their field. This means that they’re spending tens of thousands of dollars on an education that they’ll never use. Even if they do get a job in their field, they are still only making about $35,000 a year – and that’s if they’re lucky. To make anything more in this economy, it’s necessary to get at least a master’s degree.

CDL training can provide you with immediate work. You take the course, you get a job and you start making a truck driver salary – which is certainly higher than a lot of other jobs. It may not be a luxurious job at times, but there are plenty of careers out there that require a CDL and nothing else.

Well, things have been hectic and im not going to do the rework anymore....

things are going so full throttle that im looking at the next 4-5 weeks of going hard 4 or so trips a week...

Yea, i know - where the hell's the blog?!?!?!

I took it down after hearing thru the grapevine a few things, so yea its done and over with...

Now im going to start again, but ill just be narrowing it down a bit on what i say things about...

So Soon - im talking next week or two depending on how $-#-!-7 pans out - ill be doing a massive rework of my site. ( at least thats what im planning on but if it doesnt get done till the new year then so be it... )
